As summer winds down and the air starts feeling cooler, construction of Verdante at Lincoln Park continues on schedule.
The brick work on the building’s exterior is nearly complete, with masons finished on the Federal Street facade and well underway on to the Hampshire Street façade. Following behind them, crews are installing the wood-look fiber cement panels on the bays on Franklin Street, and painted fiber cement panels on the Hampshire Street façade and both stair towers. In the coming weeks, additional crews will begin framing the decks along Franklin and Federal streets, and we will see the storefront and garage doors installed. We are pleased to be receiving many quite positive comments from the community on the appearance of the building even as it is still under construction. We are gaining confidence that Verdante will be the positive addition to Portland’s urban texture that we had hoped from the beginning of our planning.
Inside, painters have finished priming and applying a first coat of paint to all second- and third-floor units. Kitchen cabinets and countertops are being installed on the second floor, and installation of the bathroom floor and shower tile has begun. This work will continue, floor by floor, in the coming weeks.
On higher floors, plumbing and electrical rough-in is complete, along with the final electrical and plumbing inspections. Drywall teams are finishing mudding and taping on the fourth floor and are hanging drywall on the fifth and sixth floors. The large curtainwall windows have been installed on the sixth floor.
The building is now connected to permanent power, water, and sewer, and the elevator has been installed. Crews will be on site next week to begin connecting the fiber optic internet service.
